Company History Ralph Ruth founded Warehouse Battery Outlet in 1985. Initially, the company operated from one location on Route 309 in Quakertown, Bucks County, PA. In the beginning, Warehouse Battery Outlet was strictly a retail and wholesale outlet for automotive and commercial batteries. Over the years the business grew and evolved into what we are today, a "Battery Specialist". In 1992, Ralph Ruth came back into the business on a full time basis. At that point, the product offering changed, and increased, to include not only automotive and commercial batteries but every type of battery. Warehouse Battery Outlet increased distribution to include: alkaline and silver oxide button cell batteries, sealed lead acid batteries, nickel cadmium and nickel metal hydride rechargeable batteries, batteries for hand held radios and communications equipment, wheelchair and medical equipment batteries, batteries for laptop computers, and many more. At this same time the scope of operations was increased from a local distribution base to regional Mid-Atlantic distribution. In 1995, Ralph's son Timothy came into the business on a full time basis. Also at this time a warehouse operation was added in Quakertown. Since then, Warehouse Battery Outlet has increased its distribution to a national level, and increased its capabilities to include custom battery pack assembly and battery pack rebuilding. In 1998, Warehouse Battery Outlet continued in its family ways with the addition of Kenneth Crouthamel, Ralph's son-in-law. In September of 2001, Warehouse Battery Outlet combined warehousing, retail and wholesale operations into one facility. Warehouse Battery Outlet's new, larger, more modern facility is located just one block east of its original location. The new address is 33-43 S. 14th St., Quakertown, Bucks County, PA.
